Hi I'm Tara

From our garden to your hands

I'm a busy mum of five, growing dahlias from our hillside garden in Christchurch.

What began as a passion for growing flowers has blossomed into Blooms at 24, where I share carefully grown dahlia tubers with gardeners across New Zealand.

Every variety is chosen for its beauty, garden performance, and ability to fill your garden with stunning blooms.

I hope the dahlias you grow from here bring you as much happiness as they've brought me.

Let’s chat perennials 🌿✨

I’ve had a few messages asking about the perennials I’ve been sowing lately, so I thought I’d share them properly!

Most of these are completely new to me and I’ve never grown them before, so there’s definitely going to be a bit of learning and trial and error along the way 😂🌸

I’m planning on planting most of them in the new garden I’m currently designing, mixed amongst roses, hydrangeas, ornamental grasses and Buxus sempervirens. I’m hoping to create a really layered, relaxed garden with lots of texture, movement and flowers throughout the seasons, while also sneaking in plenty of things I can cut for bouquets ✂️🌿🌸

I’m really excited to see how it all comes together and learn what grows well here, what works beautifully in the garden and what I end up loving as a cut flower.

So I’d LOVE to hear from those of you who have grown any of these before!

Which are your favourites? Have you used any for cutting? Anything I should know before planting them out? Or is there something you think would work beautifully alongside this mix that I absolutely need to add? 👀😂

The wind had other ideas and completely ripped the cover off 💨😂

After leaving it for 24 hours until the wind finally calmed down, I spent the morning attempting to wrestle it back on… alone.

Honestly, if anyone had been watching, I’m sure it would’ve been quality entertainment 😂

But she’s back on!! Let’s see how long she lasts this time 🤞🏼🌱
